Wet Blocking
Dunking a finished object in water is my absolute favorite thing to do. In knitting, it's called wet blocking. Here is where all the magic happens. Your stitches neaten out, the drape gets extra silky, and if the piece is a little snugger than you'd like, you can stretch it while it's wet to your desired measurements and let it lay flat to dry in it’s new size -- this won't turn a baby hat into an adult XL, but wet blocking can add a little more ease by 1/2 an inch sometimes 2.
